ABSTRACT

Refractory asthma is an inevitable clinical difficulty that is often faced by pediatricians in the promotion of standardized diagnosis and treatment of asthma. In this paper, the important role of multidimensional assessment (MDA) in the diagnosis of refractory asthma is emphasized, and the method of MDA is described in detail at first. Then foreign and domestic research on the internal mechanism of truly refractory asthma in recent years is syste-matically reviewed, which shows the progress of research on the internal phenotypes, biomarkers and targeted treatment of refractory asthma to the readers, with a view to developing the pediatricians′ ideas and further improving the diagnosis and treatment level of asthma by taking precision medical treatment as the goal.

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo seek an effective protocol fortreating spinal cord injury-induced limb dysfunction by comparing the therapeutic effects of electroacupuncture at Huatuo jiaji points plus Du meridian points versus conventional electroacupuncture. MethodForty patients with spinal cord injury-induced limb dysfunction were allocated, using a random number table, to treatment and control groups, 20 cases each. Both groups were treated with ganglioside and routine rehabilitation therapy. In addition, the treatment group received electroacupuncture at Huatuo jiaji points and Du meridian points and the control group, conventional acupuncture. Lower limb function was assessed using ASIA Motor Score, Sensory Score and the MBI in the two groups of patients before treatment and after one and two courses. The clinical therapeutic effects were evaluated.ResultThere was a statistically significant pre-/post-treatment difference in lower limb dysfunction in both treatment and control groups (P<0.05). The improving effect was better in the treatment group than in the control group (P<0.05,P<0.01).ConclusionElectroacupuncture at Huatuo jiaji points and Du meridian points has a definite therapeutic effect on spinal cord injury-induced limb dysfunction. It is superior to conventional electroacupuncture.

ABSTRACT

Objective To discuss the effect and possibility of NIPPV in ILD combined with respiratory failure. Methods A total of 37 cases of ILD combined with respiratory failure admitted by our hospital during Feb 2004 to Oct 2007 were divided into treatment group (20 cases) and control group (17 cases). Routine pharmaceutical intervention was adopted in both groups while NIPPV was given in the patients of treatment group. The symptoms、signs and the arterial blood gases were observed and analyzed. Results Among 20 patients,3 gave up treatment , 17 patients were successfully treated with the NIPPV therapy. There were significant improvement of PaCO2、PaO2、pH and respiratory rate ,heart rate after 2h NIPPV. Conclusion NIPPV is an effective method for ILD combined with respiratory failure, which can save the patients life and decrease the complications.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effects of Jujingwan on the spermatozoal ultrastructure and apoptosis of germ cells in oligospermia patients.

METHODSWe treated 50 oligospermia patients with Jujingwan and observed the spermatozoal ultrastructure, the apoptosis of germ cells and the changes in the DNA ploidy proportion of spermatogenic cells by electron microscopy and FCM before the treatment and 3, 6, 9 and 12 months after it.

RESULTSJujingwan increased sperm acrosome base density 6 months after the treatment and remarkably improved the integrity of acrosome membrane 12 months after it, with no obvious pathological changes in the nuclei and tails. Three months after the treatment, cell debris and apoptotic cells decreased significantly as compared with pre-treatment (P < 0. 05) , and very significantly 12 months after the treatment (P <0. 01). The proportion of haploid spermatozoa increased very significantly (P <0.01) , and the lost primary spermatocytes decreased significantly (P <0. 05) compared with pre-treatment.

CONCLUSIONJujingwan can increase the density of sperm acrosome base and improve the pathological changes of acrosome membrane in oligospermia patients; it can improve the activity of acrosome enzyme and the integrity of acrosome membrane, decrease the apoptosis rate of germ cells and sperm and increase the percentage of haploid spermatozoa; it can also reduce the percentage of apoptotic bodies and diploid sperm cells. It is indicated that Jujingwan can inhibit the apoptosis of germ cells and sperm and improve spermatogenesis in oligospermia patients.

ABSTRACT

The DNA fragments of ag85b、esat-6、hsp65、mpb64 and ag85b-esat-6、hsp65-esat-6、mpb64-esat-6 were amplified by PCR and SOE technique. These seven fragments were inserted into pCDNA3.1(+)vector to construct recombinant plasmids pCA、pCE6、pCH、pCM、pCAE、pCHE and pCME.The seven plasmids were transfected into SP2/0 cell in vitro to detect the expression of target genes.BALB/c mice were intramuscularly vaccinated with the seven plasmids and the control vector pCDNA3.1(+)and PBS respectively. The serum antibodies and the spleen lymphocyte proliferation(SLP)and secreted IFN~? of spleen were tested. The results of indirect ELISA showed the levels of antibodies in all recombinant plasmids groups were significantly higher than the two control groups(P

ABSTRACT

To study and optimize the fermentation parameters for expressing human-like collagenⅡduring E. coli high-density fermentation. The effects of pH, temperature, dissolved oxygen and induction instant on the cell growth and human-like collagenⅡproduction were investigated to optimize the fermentation conditions. The results demonstrated that the following conditions were beneficial for cell growth and foreign gene expression, controlling pH in phase induction at 6.8 and initial pH at 6.5, maintaining fermentation temperature and dissolved oxygen concentration was controlled at 34?C and 20% respectively, and implementing induction at the later logarithmic growth phase. Under the optimized condition, the cell density and human-like collagenⅡyield could reach 88.4 g/L and 14.2 g/L, respectively.
